Know When To Go All In in Poker

Knowing when to go all in is very important in playing poker. The term "All in" is very popular in No Limit Texas Holdem. In playing poker, going all in is the most frightening bet. It means a player bets all the chips that he has and puts everything in the pot. Beginner players often hesitate to go all in because it is really intimidating to risk everything.

Technically, since there are no rules on when to go all in, a player can go all in at any point during the game. He can even do so on the first hand. But savvy poker players know that there are better times and more appropriate situations to do this.

The first situation that calls for going all in is when a player wants to protect a hand. In this case, a golden rule for good poker players is to bet all the chips when they think they have the best hand. To protect a hand, it is best for a player to raise the pot by betting all the money he has on the table. This way, the opponents are forced to pay for the draws. If an opponent decides to draw out on the player, the opponent needs to pay for it.

Another good reason when to go all in is when a player has lots of outs when he has a marginal hand. By betting all his chips, a player has a great chance of wing the pot. This is because there is a good probability that no other opponent is going to call the bet. On the other hand, if another opponent does call the bet, the player who goes all in has a lot of outs.

Also, there is this popular big bluff bet. It is not the best situation to go all in. A player needs to go by his instinct on this. If he feels it is the right time, he should do it. However, the worst time to do all in is if he has no outs. If there are no outs, the only way a player can win is if the opponent folds.
